Diversity and movement are the natural state of the universe. Flux is the organizing principle and far exceeds human interpretations and attempts of admixture and cross-pollination.
Adjacencies, inflections, and unanticipated arrivals are the dynamisms that makes life life. Our endless responding is the very basis of expression and we share the inherent ability to respond with the more-than-human world. When we bend with the forces, we display pliancy, flexibility and responsiveness.
In this series there is modulation of suggested natural narratives.  The compositions recall the presence of old trees being accosted by intense weather, and at other times craggy mountains at a distance in gales of snow.
I make my own natural dyes for both paper and textile applications. Moving between the handmade paper, hand spun fiber and handwoven textiles, I follow the behavior of the dyes on the various surfaces of fiber. I observe the fibers drink the wet media and feel and affinity with the idea absorption, and the moments when the work is transitioning from wet to dry. The link paint has a different constitution and accumulates on the surface, creating a slightly embossed effect.
